Make Your Own Cards

Modified on Mon, 2 Mar at 11:36 PM

Make Your Own Cards allow you to personalize your child’s listening experience by linking your own audio to a Wonder Card.

You can add songs, stories, voice recordings, playlists, or even free content from the Wonder Library in the MyWonder app — and play them instantly by tapping the card on your Wonder Pod.

What Is a Make Your Own Card?

A Make Your Own Card is a customizable Wonder Card that links to audio content you choose inside the MyWonder app.

The card itself does not store audio. Instead, it connects to a playlist in your child’s library, allowing the Pod to recognize and play that content when tapped.

How to Add Content to a Card

Follow these steps to link audio to your card:

  1. Open the MyWonder Parent App.

  2. Create a new playlist or select an existing playlist.

  3. Add content to the playlist:

    • Upload your own audio files (songs, stories, recordings), or

    • Choose free content from the Wonder Library in the app.

  4. Tap “Link to Card.”

  5. Hold the Wonder Card to your NFC-enabled phone when prompted.

Once completed, the playlist is linked to the card.

What Happens When My Child Taps the Card?

When the card is tapped on the Pod:

  • The Pod recognizes the card.

  • It checks the linked playlist.

  • If it’s the first time using the card, the content will download to the device.

This initial download may take a few minutes depending on:

  • Wi-Fi speed

  • Playlist size

After the first download, playback is instant every time.

Does the Card Work Without Wi-Fi?

Yes.

Once the content has been downloaded to the Pod, it can play offline anytime.

Wi-Fi is only required:

  • During the first download

  • When updating or changing the playlist

Can I Change the Content Later?

Yes.

You can relink the card at any time:

  1. Open the MyWonder app.

  2. Select or create a new playlist.

  3. Tap “Link to Card.”

  4. Hold the card to your phone again.

The previous content will automatically be replaced.

Can I Add My Own Voice Recordings?

Yes.

You can upload:

  • Your voice recordings

  • Family messages

  • Bedtime stories

  • Custom songs

This makes the experience more personal and meaningful for your child.

How Much Content Can One Card Hold?

The card itself does not store audio. It links to content in your child’s library.

We recommend keeping playlists under 30 minutes of content.

This helps reduce the initial download time.

You can update or swap playlists anytime.

Can Multiple Cards Have Different Playlists?

Yes.

Each card can be linked to a completely different playlist, such as:

  • Bedtime stories

  • Car ride songs

  • Learning games

  • Free Wonder Library content

  • Family voice notes

Each card works independently.

Why Does It Take a Few Minutes After Tapping?

The first time a card is tapped:

  • The Pod reads the card.

  • It downloads the linked playlist.

  • Then it begins playback.

From the second time onward, playback is instant.
