Talking Cards

Real-time, two-way conversations with AI characters.

View as Markdown

Talking Cards bring AI characters to life on your Pod. Your child taps a card and starts talking, and the character responds in real time.

What are Talking Cards?

Talking Cards are special tap-to-connect cards that link your child to an AI-powered character. When tapped, they:

  • Connect to a live AI character
  • Enable real-time voice conversations
  • Create dynamic, personalized experiences

Each Talking Card is designed around a specific character or theme.

How Talking Cards work

Each Talking Card has built-in NFC. When your child taps it on the Pod:

1

The Pod recognizes the card

The Pod reads the card and starts connecting to the AI character.

2

The LEDs turn purple

The LED eyes pulse purple while connecting.

3

The conversation begins

Once connected, your child can speak naturally and chat with the character in real time.

Does it need Wi-Fi?

Yes. Conversations happen live, so Talking Cards need a stable Wi-Fi connection. They don’t work without Wi-Fi.

For the best experience, use a strong network and keep the Pod within good signal range.

Can I turn the microphone off?

Yes. Press the Mic button to turn the microphone on or off at any time, even in the middle of a conversation. When the mic is off, the character can’t hear your child.

What kinds of conversations can happen?

  • Story-based adventures
  • Role play and imaginative scenarios
  • Question-and-answer learning
  • Games and challenges
  • Skill-building conversations

What happens if the connection is slow?

On a weak connection, the Pod may take longer to connect and responses may be slightly delayed. Improving the Wi-Fi signal usually fixes this. See Wi-Fi troubleshooting.

Tips for the best experience

  • Make sure the Pod is connected to strong Wi-Fi.
  • Sit with your child during the first few conversations.
  • Encourage open-ended questions for richer conversations.
  • Keep the microphone uncovered for clearer audio.

You can read summaries of your child’s conversations in the Parent App.
