Connect to a phone hotspot

Use your phone’s mobile hotspot when you’re away from home Wi-Fi.

You can connect your Pod to a phone’s mobile hotspot, which is handy for car rides and travel.

Most phones turn off their own Wi-Fi when the hotspot is on. That means you can’t use the phone that is sharing its hotspot to set up the Pod. Either use a second device (Option A), or give your hotspot MyWonder’s built-in name and password so the Pod connects automatically (Option B).

Option A: Use a second device

1

Turn on your phone hotspot

Turn on the hotspot on your main phone.

2

Turn on the Pod hotspot

Press and hold the left button for 5 seconds. The LED eyes turn blue.

3

Join the Pod from a second device

On a second phone, tablet or laptop (not the phone sharing its hotspot), connect to the Pod’s Wi-Fi network, MYWONDER_<device_id>.

4

Choose your phone hotspot

  1. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.10.10.
  2. Tap Scan Networks.
  3. Select your phone’s hotspot from the list.
  4. Enter the hotspot password and connect.

When the connection succeeds, the Pod blinks green and then the LEDs turn white. Your Pod is now connected to your phone hotspot.

If your phone hotspot uses these details, the Pod connects to it automatically whenever the hotspot is on:

SettingValue
Network name (SSID)mywonder
Password••••••••

For your security, the hotspot password isn’t shown on this site. Contact support to get it.

1

Set the hotspot password

Open Settings > Personal Hotspot > Wi-Fi Password and set it to the MyWonder hotspot password.

2

Set the hotspot name

Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change the name to mywonder.

3

Turn it on

Turn on Allow Others to Join.

Changing your iPhone’s name also changes how it appears in AirDrop and Bluetooth. You can change it back after your trip.
